Makes me smile

As in Life, sometimes just the beauty of a flower picked in your own yard, no matter how imperfect it may be---makes things seem ok :)

As I sit down to write this morning, I am filled with mixed emotions. My view of my backyard as seen through the eye of my camera last night, during the sun set, is one that I have viewed many times over. It will always hold a special place in my heart for all the evenings, that I have cherished what Gods work has done in my life.  He has given me such a gift for the past 9 years of being able to love this old home, enhance what this home had and bring her to life for all that she is.  She has kept us safe during the many storms that we had, even though there were times that we thought for sure, a tree would fall.  Trees did fall last December, and one very large one in particular. As you can see it missed our home and I am not sure why, but we were lucky.

As you can see from the pics, Dec 2011, and then July 2012---lots of work has been done around our home.  We are starting on a new phase of our life and we do not know what is in store. We are trying to keep our heads up and look towards the future.

Today, I am starting my blog that will be the place that I can go for our Journey from a Cattle Ranch to being back in the City. This decision was not of our doing, but we are doing this and we will continue to find another place that we can call home, to have our dogs, cats, horses and my daughters show cattle............ A place where we can watch the sun rise in the morning and the sun set in the evenings. City life is not what we are cut out for, I know that many people enjoy this, but we enjoy the quiet, the solitude and getting back to a simpler way of life.
